On March 15th, each of us will mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses our opposition to him. And we, in vast numbers, from all corners of the world, will overwhelm the man with his unpopularity and failure. We will show the media and the politicians what standing with him — and against us — means. And most importantly, we will bury the White House post office in pink slips, all informing Donnie that he’s fired.
Each of us — every protester from every march, each congress calling citizen, every boycotter, volunteer, donor, and petition signer — if each of us writes even a single postcard and we put them all in the mail on the same day, March 15th, well: you do the math.
No alternative fact or Russian translation will explain away our record-breaking, officially-verifiable, warehouse-filling flood of fury. Hank Aaron currently holds the record for fan mail, having received 900,000 pieces in a year. We’re setting a new record: over a million pieces in a day, with not a single nice thing to say.
So sharpen your wit, unsheathe your writing implements, and see if your sincerest ill-wishes can pierce Donald’s famously thin skin.
Prepare for March 15th, 2017, a day hereafter to be known as #TheIdesOfTrump
Write one postcard. Write a dozen! Take a picture and post it on social media tagged with #TheIdesOfTrump ! Spread the word! Everyone on Earth should let Donnie know how he’s doing. They can’t build a wall high enough to stop the mail.
Then, on March 15th, mail your messages to:
President (for now) Donald J. Trump
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
Not my original post but someone else’s great idea!

My parents are in town for three weeks. This is good. Never in my life did I imagine a) I’d live in North Carolina b) my parents would move here to be closer to their first grandchild!

In the bad news: Bennett has been vomiting since Saturday, I was ill on Friday and have had a cough for weeks. Caroline has a cough too.

In better news: I’m going to suffer like a dog from now until March 31 and grind out my dissertation. I don’t want to at this point. I kind of don’t really care. But, if I have suffered with this over my head for years, eight week is a cake walk. Make it happen!

Today is Wednesday and it’s the warmest and driest day we’ve had in awhile. The projection is for the mercury to hit around 70 degrees F, which is pretty crazy. I’m officially becoming a Southern when I think 1.5 weeks of cool weather and rain is a “long winter.”

Bennett is on the mend, so is his Momma. I’m feeling okay, still a bit of a cough. But, despite playing soccer on the turf last night, my back feels the best it has felt in a long, long time. Hmm, I guess the constant back exercises are doing the trick!

Working away and going to do some reverse outlining tonight when I get home. I’m determined to pull off a full draft by March 31 and I think reverse outlining is the key method I need! I was trying to make 60 pages perfect at one go, not going to happen!

Oh man, this is a lovely bicycle to ride.

Happy to be able to ride this bike on sunny, dry days. All photos by my friend and neighbor, D.L. Anderson. Thanks, bud!Tomma Full against Tree

Not much time lately to add content here.

I’ve had a full-time job since the end of 2014. I really enjoy it. I also am a bit of editing away from having a fully drafted dissertation. I will be graduating this year, which is exciting and a long time coming. My lovely wife is also due to give birth to our first child in early May. Oh, and we’ve owned our home since spring 2015.

Life is moving fast, life is changing. With maybe 40 more hours of work, I’ll be 95% done with my dissertation. I’m not sure I ever thought I’d be here, but it feels great! Excited to be moving on to a new phase!

Some visual fun, for those times when you’re lookin’ for fun…
