Who says skinny men in Lycra aren’t tough?

Here is a photo of Mark Cavendish, current World Road Race Champion, crossing the finish line of Stage 3 of the Giro d’Italia 2012. Due to some wild bike maneuvering by a dangerous Italian rider Cavendish went down HARD in the final kilometer of the stage as he was winding up his sprint. Another rider skillfully missed running over Cavendish’s head, while a second equally skillful rider was able to bunny hope his torso.

He walked some of the way to the line, then remounted to roll across. Toughness. HardMan.

Two days later he rode in the Sky team time trial. Three days later he won a sprint finish, swollen and bruised.
